What we verify
We prioritize dates, names, casualty figures, ship histories, memorial access, opening hours, reservation rules, admission claims, shuttle requirements, bag restrictions, accessibility information, tour duration, pickup, and stated inclusions. We also check whether two experiences that appear connected actually require separate reservations or tickets.
Source hierarchy
- Official government and attraction sources.
- Primary historical records and recognized archival institutions.
- Reputable scholarship and established museums.
- Tour-operator or marketplace listings for the operator’s own current commercial claims.
- Secondary travel sources only when primary confirmation is unavailable and the limitation is made clear.
Conflicting information
When current official sources disagree, we do not silently choose the most convenient version. We look for a more recent notice, identify which organization controls the activity, and qualify the wording when uncertainty remains. For a timed activity, the visitor’s confirmation and instructions from the operating authority take priority.
